Lexi Mamacos is well known at RCYC as a champion for the Academy. In her own quiet way, she has managed to get many an Academy student to pass their Skippers ticket. Always progressive, Lexi has invited Mamela Njingolo, a mother of a new Academy student to join her on their voyage to Rio.
Mamela is ready for a challenge and an adventure and Lexi is ready to have a newbie on their voyage. Lexi has been dreaming about doing the Cape2Rio race on her own boat for many years and in reality, has been prepping for about 5 years in anticipation for Cape to Rio 2023. Lexi, and her crew of four, is using the Cape2Rio race as a launching pad to continue cruising after the race and Faros, a 43-foot Dudley Dix, will be a perfect travelling home for Lexi.
