DHL ME2ME

The journey for competing in the Cape 2 Rio yacht race started 10 years ago in order for us to be part of this extraordinary event.  We have been developing the crew over this time on a smaller yacht before moving over to FARR 38. We have competed in most offshore events concentrating specifically on the C2R, building offshore experience, accountabilities and responsibilities and more importantly safety at sea. We feel very confident in our abilities and our platform having spent the past years preparing and obtaining the necessary certification both personally and the yacht.

CREW

Phil Couchman – Co-owner who has given most of his time to navigation and helming.  Also a watch leader.

Ken Balman – Co-owner with offshore experience worldwide, trimming, watch leader, navigation and helming

Richard Sissons – Skipper with offshore experience worldwide, navigation, trimming and helming

Danie Pretorius – A certified shipwright and boat boss. Watch Leader with many miles of offshore experience – trimmer, helming and all as well as all things mechanical

Oliver Ives – a submariner master chef, foredeck extraordinaire, foresail trimmer.

Chris Mailer – part of the development crew and has been involved with the team for the past 2 years concentrating on the foredeck activities assisting Oliver.  A crew work ethic and enthusiasm about all things yachting.

Louise Otter – our lady on the team who has been involved since acquiring the FAR 38.  Our certified medic responsible for the pit duties with an amazing adventurous spirit.  A great compliment to the crew compliment
