Audaz II

Meet the crew of Audaz II as they gear up for Cape2Rio 2025!

Gustavo Lis – Amateur captain and Yacht Master, sailing since the age of 7. He’s a former HC16 State and Ocean Boats Brazilian Champion, a 2023 C2R participant, and now a C2R ambassador in Brazil. Returning as skipper of Audaz II for 2025, he hopes for a great race—but mostly to have fun and reconnect with new and old friends.

Julio Lucchesi – Amateur captain with multiple Atlantic crossings, 16 Refeno races, and extensive sailing experience across Europe, the Caribbean, and Antarctica. At 66, he’s taking on his second Cape2Rio. With countless miles behind him, his goal is a solid, safe race with his crew.

Eduardo Ribas – A 56-year-old architect who began sailing at 14. Former Commodore of Veleiros do Sul Yacht Club (2015–2018). His longest non-stop passage is 1,050 nm. A passionate, non-professional sailor, Eduardo has an impressive racing record: ORC Refeno 2016 winner (record-breaking aboard Camiranga) and champion of the Florianópolis and Ilhabela circuits (2021/2022) on Kamikaze. His Cape2Rio 2025 goal: Top 3!

Guilherme Borges – Amateur captain and seasoned racing sailor. Passionate about seamanship, he embraces long-distance challenges that demand strategy, discipline, and teamwork. He joins the race seeking a true ocean-crossing experience while contributing actively to the crew.

Luísa Barbosa – A doctor and sailor, Hobie Cat 16 State Champion, and competitor in numerous Brazilian regattas and coastal crossings.

Diego Quevedo – A business consultant and lifelong sailor. With a strong background in dinghies—including Optimist, Laser, and Snipe—Diego has also raced ocean boats and cruised along the Brazilian coast. Cape2Rio 2025 will be his first Atlantic crossing.
