INDULGENCE is a Vaal Dam boat, with very little saltwater under her keel. Her captain and crew are also avid inland sailors with mixed ocean sailing experience – so to step on board to undertake an Atlantic crossing takes some doing!

A fleet of 25-30 yachts are expected on the start line, and the line honours record is under serious threat from two racing maxi multihulls.

The 2020 edition of this Ocean Classic will be incorporated into the centenary celebrations of the Iate Clube Rio de Janeiro. The Cape2Rio is the longest single transcontinental race in the world, and attracts club and professional sailors alike.
