- Sailing regularly in dinghies and yachts from 1970 to 1992 including - raced an OK at Bosham Sailing Club; skippered two yacht deliveries in Mediterranean for Sunsail; numerous Channel crossings in 30'-33' yachts; cruised extensively on UK South Coast, Channel Islands, Northern France, Holland and Germany; raced Sigma 33' OOD from 1990-92 (Sigmatic 2 with David Bonner) at Cowes as foredeck (came 3rd in 1991); sailing instructor in US in 1984 and for Sunsail in Greece in 1986; Since then occasionally sailed on Hobie Cats. Raced an X-boat in Solent in July '22 (to check that I still know how to sail!!) Regularly using 4.7m rib/"rubber duck" since 2005 in Mozambique, and off the coast of Betty's Bay and Cape Town (Category C Power Driven Vessel; Day Skipper < 15miles from shore).
