Cool Ideas Nemesis

Cool Ideas Nemesis is excited to announce their entry into the Cape2Rio Race 2023. The Fast 42, Nemesis, is no stranger to coastal racing off South Africa and was also previously raced to Rio in 2014.

Faros

Lexi Mamacos with her crew of 5 is using the Cape2Rio race as a launching pad to continue cruising after the race and Faros, a 43-foot Dudley Dix, will be a perfect travelling home.

Ray of Light

In the 2017 Rio Race Ray of Light was crewed by the Kavanagh and Bailes families. In 2023 they will be racing against each other, the Kavanagh’s and friends on Ray of Light and the Bailes and friends on Nemesis.

Audaz

Audaz is a 16-meter aluminum monohull designed by Finot. She is owned by Francisco Julio Galvão Lucchesi (Julio) togather with Decio Maia and Gustavo Lis who all have vast experience of ocean crossings.

Atalanta

It comes as no surprise that he has just become the first single-handed entry for the Cape2Rio Race 2023. For his build up to the start on 2 January 2023, he has a few additional objectives in his sight.

Tarini

INSV Tarini is a Tonga 56 design cruising sloop rigged vessel built at the Aquarius Shipyard, Goa, India under the make in India programme. The vessel was handed over to the Indian Navy/Ocean Sailing Node, Goa on 18 February 2017 and christened as Indian Naval Sailing Vessel (INSV) Tarini, after the Tara Tarini temple.

Aventureiro 4

Aventureiro 4 is an Outremer 51 belonging to Johan “Hans” Hutzler, who is no stranger to the Cape2Rio Race having been the navigator on board the yacht “Saravah” in the 2020 race.

JML Rotary Scout

JML Rotary Scout set the record for the youngest skipper in the history of the race in 2000 with a 20-year-old skipper and 23-year-old navigator. This time Nicholas Chapman and Daniel Skriker will be co-skippering the race. Both will be aged 21 at the start.
